Lions Club

Founded on April 13, 1968 with charter members. The present memberships is 52 members. Community services rendered:
Lions' Park   Sponsor the Annual Christmas Parade

 

COFFINBURY LODGE No. 204 F and A.M.

Coffinbury Lodge obtained its charter January 10, 1867 and begun its work with the following officers: Emory O. Briggs, Worshipful Master; Dennis Chidester, Senior Warden; Charles U. Cross, Junior Warden.
   Meetings were held in the Nyman Block, until recently when the group began meeting in South Haven. The present total membership is about 125. Officers are: Charles Johnson, Worshipful Master; Marcus Graller, Senior Warden; Max Seely, Junior Warden; Harlan Quinn, Senior Deacon; Donald Warren, Junior Deacon; Donald Warren, Junior Deacon; Warren McKenzie, Tyler; William Babor, Treasurer; and Burt McKane, Secretary.

 

P.T.O. ( Parent Teacher Organization)

This organization is made up of parents and teachers  of the Elementary School and meets monthly during the school year. Its purpose is to develop a better understanding of children and to foster good relationships between parents and teachers. Claude Street is the president.

 

B.E.A. (Bangor Education Association)

The Bangor Education Association, composed of teachers in the school system, works for better working conditions for the teachers and better relations between teachers and the administration,
The Board of Education and the State Department of Education. Mrs. Lynn Farmer is president of the organization.

 

BANGOR BAND BOOSTERS

The Bangor Band Boosters, only just recently organized, has as its purpose the promotion of the instrumental music program of the school and rising money for the purchase of new uniforms. Mary Ellis is the president of the group.

 

EASTERN STAR

Golden Rule Chapter, No.339, Order of the Eastern Star was chartered December 1, 1905,  with Clara Sebring as Worthy Matron and N.A. Williams as Worthy Patron. There were 29 charter members.  There are 172 members now (1977). The present Worthy Matron is Carolyn Miller and Ashel Miller is Worthy Patron. On the state level this chapter has had one Past Grand Patron, Charles E. Cross; One grand officer, Jean Thomas, four Grand Committee Members, Beatrice Ransley, Jean Thomas, Virginia McKane and Ashel Miller; one Grand Representative, Virginia McKane. Many members have held highest offices in the country and district.
