Bangor Area Centennial
This Centennial Book is Dedicated to the memory of Charles U. Cross the first man to settle in Bangor, and the memories of all the early settlers who came to this area and made their homes and farms out of the wilderness, and to the people who have settled here and made their homes in the area since.
We wish for the future generations to continued success and wise use of the land so that all may continue to benefit and prosper in the years head.
City of Bangor
First settled in 1837 by Charles U. Cross Incorporated as a village March 21, 1877 Became a city February 5, 1968
Bangor City Hall
Located on the corner of West Monroe and Division Streets. The present town hall was built in 1935. It was owned jointly by the Village of Bangor and Bangor Township. The City of Bangor purchased Bangor Township's share in the building in 1975 and it is now the Bangor City Hall.
